Alcoholics Anonymous (AA)
Alcoholics Anonymous® is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues or fees for AA membership; we are self-supporting through our own contributions. AA is not allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organization or institution; does not wish to engage in any controversy, neither endorses nor opposes any causes. Our primary purpose is to stay sober and help other alcoholics to achieve sobriety.
National Institute on Alcohol Abuse & Alcoholism (NIAAA)
NIAAA provides leadership in the national effort to reduce alcohol-related problems by:
- Conducting and supporting research in a wide range of scientific areas including genetics, neuroscience, epidemiology, health risks and benefits of alcohol consumption, prevention, and treatment
- Coordinating and collaborating with other research institutes and Federal Programs on alcohol-related issues
- Collaborating with international, national, state, and local institutions, organizations, agencies, and programs engaged in alcohol-related work
- Translating and disseminating research findings to health care providers, researchers, policymakers, and the public
Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD)
To provide students with the best prevention and intervention tools possible to deal with the issues of underage drinking, other drug use, impaired driving and other destructive decisions.

The American Cancer Society is the nationwide community-based voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem by preventing cancer, saving lives, and diminishing suffering from cancer, through research, education, advocacy, and service.
The Cancer Project
The Cancer Project is a collaborative effort of physicians, researchers, and nutritionists who have joined together to educate individuals, families, and the public on the benefits of a healthy diet for cancer prevention and survival.

The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation
The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation was founded on a promise made between two sisters – Susan Goodman Komen and Nancy Goodman Brinker. Suzy was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1978, a time when little was known about the disease and it was rarely discussed in public. Before she died at the age of 36, Suzy asked her sister to do everything possible to bring an end to breast cancer. Nancy kept her promise by establishing the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation in 1982 in Suzy’s memory.
For more than 20 years, the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation has been a global leader in the fight against breast cancer through its support of innovative research and community-based outreach programs. Working through a network of U.S. and international Affiliates and events like the Komen Race for the Cure®, the Komen Foundation is fighting to eradicate breast cancer as a life-threatening disease by funding research grants and supporting education, screening and treatment projects in communities around the world.

Founded in 1975, The BACCHUS NetworkTM is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit public benefit corporation whose mission is promote peer to peer strategies as effective tools in health and safety education and prevention programs.

JHU Student Health & Wellness Center
The Student Health and Wellness Center provides high quality, confidential health care to students of the Homewood campus community. The clinic is located on the perimeter of the Johns Hopkins University Homewood campus at 3003 N. Charles St., N200. Enter the SH&WC through the main door located on 31st Street. The health care staff consists of board certified/eligible physicians, nationally certified nurse practitioners, a licensed nurse, medical assistants/ technologists, and a nurse mid-wife. We offer a broad range of primary care services including illness & injury, routine gynecologic care, and travel consultation and immunizations.

AIDSinfo is a U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) project that offers the latest federally approved information on HIV/AIDS clinical research, treatment and prevention, and medical practice guidelines for people living with HIV/AIDS, their families and friends, health care providers, scientists, and researchers.
- Clinical Trials: AIDSinfo offers information on federally and privately funded clinical trials for AIDS patients and others infected with HIV. AIDS clinical trials evaluate experimental drugs and other therapies for adults and children at all stages of HIV infection - from patients who are HIV positive with no symptoms to those with various symptoms of AIDS.

Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network (RAINN)The Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network (RAINN) is the nation's largest anti-sexual assault organization and has been ranked as one of "America’s 100 Best Charities" by Worth magazine. Among its programs, RAINN created and operates the National Sexual Assault Hotline at 1.800.656.HOPE. This nationwide partnership of more than 1,100 local rape treatment hotlines provides victims of sexual assault with free, confidential services around the clock. The Vegetarian Resource Group (VRG)
The Vegetarian Resource Group (VRG) is a non-profit organization dedicated to educating the public on vegetarianism and the interrelated issues of health, nutrition, ecology, ethics, and world hunger. In addition to publishing the Vegetarian Journal, VRG produces and sells cookbooks, other books, pamphlets, and article reprints.

SmarterSex.org was created with the special needs of college students in mind.
Statistics show that men and women ages 18-24 face tough challenges when it comes to sex. College-aged men and women account for the highest percentage of new sexually transmitted infections cases, and generally, women in this age group have the highest number of unintended pregnancies in the U.S.
BACCHUS and GAMMA created SmarterSex.org, an exciting and one-of-a-kind sexual health web site for college students. Our hope is that this will encourage not only students, but also educators and parents, to discuss and learn from each other about smart sex.
