Shannon Shin, clarinet
Clarinetist Shannon Shin is currently in her fifth year as a double degree student between the Peabody Institute of Music and the Johns Hopkins University, where she is majoring in political science. At Peabody, she is under the instruction of Steven Barta and a member of Mu Phi Epsilon. At Johns Hopkins University, she is the editor-in-chief of the Johns Hopkins News-Letter, member of the Pi Sigma Alpha honor society and a coach for the Johns Hopkins University Mock Trial Association.
Miss Shin attended the Brevard Music Center in the summer of 1995, followed by her attendance at the Eastern Music Festival during the summers of 1997 and 1998. As a clarinetist, she has performed as soloist with the Johns Hopkins University Band. As a high school student, Miss Shin performed with the Atlanta Youth Wind Symphony and the Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra as a principal player.
