Pianist Joel Wizansky is a recent Grand Prize winner of the Helen Hart International Piano Competition and has embarked on a successful performing career receiving both audience and critical acclaim. Among his numberous awards are fifth prize in the prestigious Marguerite Long International Piano Competition and first prize in the Yale Gordon Concerto Competition.

Mr. Wizansky made his debut with the San Francisco Symphony at the age of 17. Since that time he has been heard frequently in solo and chamber music recitals on both the East and West Coasts. Among his recent appearances have been solo recitals at Rockefeller University in New York City and at the Music at Gretna summer music festival, and numerous recitals in the Baltimore area. He has been heard in broadcast performances over WETA in Washington D.C. and WQXR in New York.

Mr. Wizansky recently completed his studies with Leon Fleisher at the Peabody Conservatory, where he received the Artist Diploma ans was awarded the France Graage Scholarship, the school's highest honor in performance. He is also a graduate of the New England Conservatory, where he studied with Leonard Shure. Mr. Wizansky is currently a faculty member of the Peabody Preparatory Department.
