of Monticello's African American descendants. Here you'll see

Herbert Barger is an amateur historian who began collecting
information on Thomas Jefferson several years ago after
discovering that his wife is a descendant of Jefferson's uncle,
Field Jefferson. In his Web page, Barger argues forcefully
