Theatre Hopkins Presents Murder on the Nile

Theatre Hopkins' 81st season continues with its production of Agatha Christie's Murder on the Nile, opening on Friday, April 11, at the Merrick Barn on Johns Hopkins University's Homewood campus, 3400 N. Charles St. in Baltimore.

This classic murder mystery focuses on aristocratic newlyweds honeymooning in Egypt. Long before the recent popular film, Gosford Park, Agatha Christie transported her "upstairs/downstairs" characters to an exotic craft floating on the Nile where passion and treachery thrive.

Directed by John Lehmeyer, the cast, led by Harry B.Turner, includes Catrin Davies, James Carlisle, Jonathan Hudson, Anne Helms Irons, Heather Lockhard, J. R. Lyston, Molly Moores and Dyana Neal. Curtain time for Friday and Saturday performances is 8 p.m.; Sunday matinees begin at 2:15 p.m. Tickets at the door are $12 on Friday evenings, and $15 on Saturday evenings and Sunday afternoons. Student rush tickets for $5 are available at curtain time for all performances. The production will run weekends through Sunday, May 4. There will be no performance on Sunday, April 20 in observance of Easter. For reservations or further information, call (410) 516-7159, e- mail thehop@jhu.edu.
