Dunbar Baldwin Hughes Presents
We're Going to Have a Good Time

The Dunbar Baldwin Hughes Theatre Company's production of Carlton and Barbara Molette's We're Going to Have a Good Time IX: Faces of Racism: The Rosalee Pritchett Story will open at 8 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 4, in the Mattin Center's Swirnow Theatre on the Homewood campus of The Johns Hopkins University, 3400 N. Charles St. in Baltimore.

Director Benedict A. Dorsey and assistant director Vladimir N. Cadet, an undergraduate, will lead a cast of undergraduates in this one-act drama focuses on a group of well-to-do black women in 1968. While playing bridge, the women discuss their accomplishments in the world of white society and express their contempt for the people in the ghetto who they say make life difficult for them. The plot thickens when the race riots start and one of the members of their circle is caught breaking curfew and beaten. The New Yorker called the drama "a witty, sad, and powerful play that may well remain alive long after the immediate issues it raises have been settled."

The cast of students includes Kourtney Bennett, Joost Bottenbley, Jessica Hall, Joseph Houlder, Gerald Rasheed, Tasia Richards, Kristin Simpson, Ekemini Udofa, and Wesley Williams. Producer is undergraduate Kara Lawrence. Special live music will be performed by The Good Time A Capella Chorus.

We're Going to Have a Good Time IX will be performed on Thursday, Dec. 4; Friday, Dec. 5; and Sunday, Dec. 6. Curtain time for all three performances is 8 p.m. Tickets at the door are $5 for the general public and $3 for Hopkins students. For information, call (410) 516-5473.
