Pulitzer Winner Talley's Folly Opens Feb. 16

Theatre Hopkins will open its 2007 season with Talley's Folly by Lanford Wilson on Friday, Feb. 16, in the Mattin Student Arts Center's Swirnow Theater on The Johns Hopkins University's Homewood campus, 3400 N. Charles St. in Baltimore.

Wilson s 1980 Pulitzer Prize-winning play takes place on July 4, 1944, as Matt Friedman travels from St. Louis to Lebanon, Mo., to propose to Sally Talley, the independent- minded daughter of a socially prominent family. This two-person cast includes Mick Simon, who appeared in Theatre Hopkins production of Travesties. Stephanie McLaughlin Ranno makes her Theatre Hopkins debut in the role of Sally Talley.

Later in the season, Wendy Wasserstein's The Heidi Chronicles will run for three weekends, opening June 15.

Talley's Folly will run two weekends through Sunday, Feb. 25, at the Swirnow Theater. Curtain time for Friday and Saturday performances is 8 p.m.; Sunday matinees begin at 2 p.m. Tickets are $15 for Friday and Saturday evenings and Sunday matinees. Student rush tickets for $5 are available at curtain time for all performances, if space allows. For reservations or information, contact Theatre Hopkins at (410) 516-7159, or by e-mail to thehop@jhu.edu.
