In August of 2015 Rich McPeters and I joined a landscape photography workshop
organized by Andy Cook of Rocky Mountain Reflections. The workshop was a 7-day tour of
the Oregon Coast. We flew into Seattle and rented a car. We drove towards Portland
detouring to go through Mount Rainier National Park. We stopped to take some pictures of
"the mountain" at Paradise Lodge and Reflection Lake. The next day we drove up a very
uneven curvy road to visit Mt. St. Helens. We continued to Manzanita, Oregon for the
beginning of the workshop that evening.
The workshop consisted of 7 morning and evening photo sessions. We went to a location
before dawn to catch the sunrise. After shooting sunrise we went to a local eatery for
a hearty mid-morning breakfast. During the afternoon we downloaded pictures onto our
computers and had instruction sessions on processing photos in photoshop to produce
final images. After an early dinner, we went to another location to take sunset photos.
We stayed successively in Manzanita, Newport, Florence, and Bandon. Our photo locations
are shown on the map to the left.
