Unless there are severe weather conditions (torrential rain, and/or lightning) the ceremony will be held outdoors on Homewood Field. In case of severe weather conditions that make it unsafe to hold a ceremony outside, there may be an abbreviated ceremony.

If it becomes necessary to cancel the afternoon ceremony, an announcement will be made no later than 12:00 noon on the University website, (www.jhu.edu) and the Weather Emergency Line, (410-516-7781). If this plan is implemented, graduates may pick up their diplomas in the Goldfarb Gymnasium in the Newton White Athletic Center from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. After picking up diplomas, graduates should meet their parents in the lobby of the Ralph S. O'Connor Recreation Center, where the president, volunteers and staff will be on hand to greet them.
