January 2006
Dear Parents:
It is hard to believe that your son or daughter is entering
the last semester here at Johns Hopkins. Over the course
of our college years, we've learned so much at Hopkins
— about life, about ourselves, and about our
respective academic fields. We're already excited to
celebrate our achievements with you in May.
The Johns Hopkins University has a proud and rich
commencement tradition. At the University-wide
Commencement Ceremony on Thursday May 25, 2006, at 9:15
a.m., the senior class will officially become graduates
of the University. The second ceremony, the Undergraduate
Diploma Ceremony, will be at 1:45 p.m. that afternoon,
and seniors from the Zanvyl Krieger School of Arts and
Sciences and the G.W.C. Whiting School of Engineering will
be called to the stage to shake hands with President
William Brody and the deans of the schools. We strongly
encourage you to attend both ceremonies.
The enclosed invitation package will give you more details
about Commencement. Also enclosed is information
regarding hotel reservations and
local restaurants.
On behalf of the Class of 2006, I hope that you will accept
my sincere invitation to attend Commencement
ceremonies. I know I speak for my class when I say that
you, our parents, are our biggest fans, and that we all
look forward to sharing our very finest hour with you.
Warm regards,
Nattavadee Temkasem
President, Class of 2006
