January 2008
Dear Parents:
It seems like just yesterday we left the security of
home to embark on a new journey here at Johns Hopkins.
These past four years
have flown by, making us wiser, stronger, and more mature
individuals. As we prepare to close our Hopkins chapter and
set out on our distinctive paths, it is my sincere pleasure
on behalf of the Class of 2008 to invite you to attend our
Commencement Ceremonies. This will be one of the most memorable
moments of our lives, and we want to share this special day
with our families and friends.
The Johns Hopkins University Commencement will be held on
Thursday, May 22, 2008. The day begins with the University-wide
Commencement at 9:15 a.m. and is followed by the undergraduate
ceremony
at 1:45 p.m. In the morning, all the Hopkins degree
candidates will be officially conferred after an address by
President William R. Brody. In the afternoon, the graduates
from the Zanvyl Krieger School of Arts and Sciences and the
G.W.C. Whiting School of Engineering will be invited on stage
to shake hands with President Brody and the respective deans
of their schools.
I hope you will attend both ceremonies and witness the rich
tradition of Hopkins Commencement. Please note that the
procession will begin twenty minutes prior to each ceremony
so I advise you to arrive early to secure your seats.
Your love and encouragement made it possible for us to
reach our goals and dreams here at Johns Hopkins. I speak
for my entire class when I say we look forward to sharing
this significant moment in our lives with you.
