I spent a good part of the last three years overseeing the organization of the GR24-Amaldi16 conference, sponsored by the International Society on General Relativity and Gravitation (ISGRG).
The International Conference on General Relativity and Gravitation (GR) meeting is held every 3 years, while the Edoardo Amaldi Conference on Gravitational Waves (Amaldi) is held every 2 years. Every 6 years, the two meetings are held together as a joint meeting, bringing together experts from across classical and quantum gravity, mathematical and applied relativity, gravitational-wave instrumentation and data-analysis, multimessenger astronomy, relativistic astrophysics and cosmology. The joint GR24–Amaldi16 Meeting was held on 14-18 July 2025 at the Scottish Event Campus in Glasgow.
At this meeting I stepped down from my role as President of the ISGRG. I will serve as Past President for the next three years; the new President is Gabriela Gonzalez.
Thanks to the members of the Local Organizing Committee and of the Scientific Organizing Committee (and in particular to the Committee Chairs: Christopher Berry, Ik Siong Heng, Jonathan Gair, Jessica Steinlechner, and Golam Shaifullah) for putting together a great meeting!
Recordings of the conference talks are available on YouTube. In particular, this is the recording of the ISGRG Open Meeting.
