Baxter Black, cowboy poet, former large-animal veterinarian and current NPR commentator, will bring his wacky verse to Baltimore on Sunday, May 7, when WJHU presents "An Evening with Baxter Black." The event takes place at 7:30 p.m. at Center Stage.

For 18 years, Black has rhymed his way into the national spotlight and now stands as the best-selling cowboy poet in the world. He has written 12 books, including a rodeo novel; recorded more than a dozen audio and videotapes; and achieved notoriety as a syndicated columnist and radio commentator. His humor focuses on the day-to-day ups and downs of everyday people who live with livestock and work the land.
