![]() The Applied Physics Laboratory has received funding from the United States Army, Ft. Detrick, Md., for Phase II development of a portable ventilator and life support system. The small, lightweight package will allow Army medics to deliver critical life support to the front lines of a battlefield, a capability not presently possible. This is the second stage of a collaborative program between APL's Institute for Advanced Science and Technology in Medicine and its Submarine Technology Department.
