Shuttle Rider Survey -- The Security Department is conducting a survey of riders utilizing the Homewood to East Baltimore campus shuttle service. This year JHU at Eastern will be added to the survey. Passengers will receive a survey form each time they use the service and are asked to complete and deposit it in the receptacle at the front of the shuttle or to give it to the driver. The reverse side of the form may be used for comments or suggestions. The survey of the Homewood to East Baltimore shuttle service will take place Sunday to Saturday, Nov. 4 through 10. The survey of the JHU at Eastern to Bloomberg School of Public Health shuttle will be conducted Monday to Friday, Nov. 5 to 9.

Holiday Gift Drive -- JHHS Community Services is collecting new toys and new clothing in all children's sizes for distribution during the holidays to those in need in the East Baltimore community. All items collected will be given to families who are clients at the Mayor's Crisis Center. Both departments and individuals are welcome to participate. Help Others This Holiday Season -- By participating in the Adopt-a-Family/Agency Program, individuals or departments can help provide gifts, clothing and food to a family or charitable agency in need. This program runs in conjunction with the Baltimore City Department of Social Services and various nonprofit health and human welfare agencies.

Members of the Hopkins community can also provide Thanksgiving dinners to families in need. Donations of $15 will purchase a Butterball gift certificate to help an indigent family purchase a turkey or other food items for the holiday. Send a $15 check, made payable to JHU Butterball to Eden Blum, Office of Faculty, Staff and Retiree Programs, third floor, Evergreen House.

Intersession in Ecuador and the Galapagos -- The second annual Intersession in Ecuador course will be held from Jan. 3 to 14, 2002. All Hopkins undergraduates are invited to apply for this unique opportunity to explore firsthand the Galapagos Islands and the rain forest of Ecuador. Monthly CPR Classes -- Those who would like to learn CPR or to be recertified in it can join monthly Heart Saver CPR classes on the Homewood campus. To register, call the Department of Occupational Health Services at 410-516-0450. Class sizes are limited. The next class is scheduled for Nov. 15, from 1:30 to 4 p.m.
