![]() As of press time, seven Johns Hopkins alumni and one employee have been confirmed or are presumed dead in the Sept. 11 attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. Thomas Cahill, A&S 1987, was a securities trader for Cantor Fitzgerald on the 104th floor of One World Trade Center. Matt O'Mahony and Glenn Wall, both Arts and Sciences 1984, also were employees of Cantor Fitzgerald. Paul J. Friedman, A&S 1978, a senior management consultant for Emergence Consulting of Lincoln, Mass., died aboard American Airlines flight 11. David W. Nelson, A&S 1973, worked on the 92nd floor of the World Trade Center. Sneha Philip, A&S 1991, was a doctor in New York City. John Sammartino, Engineering 1990, was a passenger on American Airlines flight 77, which crashed into the Pentagon. Ron Vaulk, who worked in the Submarine Technology Department at APL, was serving his annual Naval Reserve active duty at the Pentagon.
