Attention Juniors and Sophomores -- The
Honors Program in Humanistic Studies is looking for humanities majors interested in pursuing
an individual interdisciplinary project starting fall 2001.
The program offers well-qualified undergraduates with high GPAs an opportunity to do
independent research in their junior and/or senior years. Students who complete the program
and whose final essays are accepted by the Honors Board will be awarded honors at graduation.
Students who enroll in the program in their junior year may also apply to the department s
concurrent B.A./M.A. program at the beginning of their senior year.
The Honors Program will hold an informational meeting on Friday, April 27, at 4 p.m.
in 111 Gilman on the Homewood campus. Application forms and more information are

Community Cleanup
-- Volunteers are needed for the sixth annual East Baltimore
Community Cleanup, scheduled for Sat., April 21, 8:30 a.m. to
noon. The JHHS Community Services Department is teaming with
HEBCAC, JHU's Physicians for Social Responsibility and other
community organizations to clean 10 square blocks adjacent to
JHMI's East Baltimore campus. Volunteers will receive gloves and
all the necessary tools for the job, as well as a free T-shirt

Occupational Health Services Classes -- The
Department of Occupational Health Services, in conjunction with Benefits Administration, is
offering the following classes and programs for JHU faculty and staff.
Yoga will be offered on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings beginning April 30;
the cost is $25-$45 for the eight-week session. Muscle conditioning and toning will be offered
on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 12:15 to 1 p.m., beginning April 30. The cost is
$20-$40 for the eight-week session. Seated massage, given by a certified massage therapist, is
offered on both Homewood and East Baltimore campuses for a reasonable fee. For more

Organ Transplant Donor Awareness Week --
In celebration of National Organ Transplant Donor Awareness Week, the JH Comprehensive
Transplant Center will have information tables set up in the Broadway corridor of the hospital
April 16-18 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Organ donor cards will be available for signing, and former
transplant patients will visit and share their stories.
