The class of '007 arrives at Homewood to start its
undergrad adventure

The upperclassmen's T-shirts — bearing a suave,
tuxedo-clad JHU Blue Jay — sent the day's message:
"Class of 2007, welcome," they said, "to Hopkins, Johns
Hopkins." Playing up the James Bond theme, movie scores
spun by the recently reborn WJHU provided background music
as the 1,052 incoming freshmen moved onto the Homewood
campus on Friday and Saturday.
Nobody did it better than the army of student
volunteers who performed the odd job for parents: hauling
out bin upon bin of top-secret student gear bound for the
residence halls.
While Dr. No was nowhere in sight, university President William R. Brody and his
wife, Wendy, were on hand to greet parents, maneuvering
around the lined-up cars on matching Segways, those
high-tech, self-balancing vehicles that seem straight out
of a Bond film.
