East Baltimore Benefits Relocates
The JHU Benefits Service Center in East
Baltimore has relocated. The new address is 2017 E.
Monument Street. The new phone number is 410-516-2000.

Homewood Health, Safety and Environment
Relocates
The Homewood office of the Department of
Health, Safety and Environment has relocated to 012 Gilman,
inside the north end of the Gilman tunnel. All voice
telephone, fax numbers and e-mail addresses remain the
same.

Back to School Donation Drive
The Black Faculty and Staff Association is in need of
school supplies for a local elementary school. All kinds of
items are needed; monetary donations will also be accepted.
The deadline for donations is Aug. 18. For more information

Grant Writing Workshop
The Professional Development Office is
sponsoring a grant writing workshop. Scheduled for Aug. 14
and 15, the intensive two-day workshop is designed to
assist junior faculty with writing an NIH or other
peer-reviewed proposal. The workshop will be held in the
Mountcastle Auditorium of the Preclinical Teaching
Building.

Volunteer Tutors Wanted
The Greater Homewood Literacy Program offers
opportunities to tutor adults in reading and writing in a
convenient location. Materials and training are provided,
and hours are flexible to suit all schedules.

Cooley Center Golf Tournament
The
Cooley Center has planned another best-ball golf
tournament to be held Friday, Aug. 15, at the Clifton Park
Golf Course. The cost is $25 per player for a four-player
team. Payment includes greens fees, cart and a giveaway
item. Prizes will be given for winning team (low score),
longest drive and closest-to-the-pin. Sign up your team at
the Cooley Center.
The deadline to register is 8 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 8.
Full payment is expected at that time. Space is limited.

Chinese Language Publications
The Lilienfeld Library holds subscriptions to
several Chinese language magazines as well as China
Daily, an English-language newspaper from Beijing.
Current and past issues of magazines may be read or copied
in the library. New materials arrive weekly. All JHU
students, staff and faculty are welcome to visit the
Lilienfeld Library on the 9th floor of Hampton House.

Muscle Toning and Conditioning Class
The
Office of Benefits Administration, in conjunction with
Occupational Health
Services, is offering a muscle toning and conditioning
class from 12:15 to 1 p.m. on the Homewood campus, Tuesday
and Thursday afternoons beginning Aug. 5.
Cost for the 10-week session is $25 or $45 (once or
twice a week). To register, call 410-516-0450.

Wanted: Employees Involved with United Way
Agencies
The
Office of
Faculty, Staff and Retiree Programs is soliciting help
from university employees who currently volunteer or
receive services at a United Way agency, or know someone at
Johns Hopkins who does.
As part of the information-gathering effort,
participants will be asked to share their experiences so
that their JHU colleagues can better understand the
importance of the United Way in our community.
