University Summer Day Camp is looking for counselors and

Scrabble for Literacy -- The second annual Scrabble
Fundraiser for Literacy, to benefit the Adult Literacy and
ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) programs of
the Greater Homewood Community Corporation, will be held
from 6 to 9:30 p.m. on Friday, April 25, at the University
Baptist Church, 3501 N. Charles St. Two levels of play are
available, competitive and social. Space is limited to 140
players.
Cost of participation is $20 per person or $10 for
students with ID and seniors 62 and over. Light
refreshments and door prizes will be provided. All proceeds
will benefit literacy efforts in Baltimore. More

Tuberculosis Postdoctoral Fellowships -- The Johns
Hopkins Center for Tuberculosis Research has an
NIH-supported training grant to sponsor postdoctoral
fellowships in several disciplines in tuberculosis-based
research. Individuals with an M.D. or Ph.D. with an
interest in molecular biology, microbiology, epidemiology,
clinical trials, translational research or international
research are eligible to apply for these fellowship
positions.

Volunteer Cleanup -- Faculty, staff, retirees and
students and their families are invited to join Baltimore
area volunteers on Saturday, April 26, to refurbish
historic Fort McHenry. The planned spring cleaning will
focus on weeding and grouting sand-bedded brick walks,
weeding and removing debris from the historic boundary
fence, cleaning and painting park benches at Armistead
Plaza and the picnic area, and cleaning up the beach area
at the tidal wetlands. Children are welcome to participate
with one-on-one adult supervision.

Grant Money for Community and Student Service
Projects -- The Alumni Association has grant money
available for the Community Service Grants Program, which
provides volunteer experiences for students and fosters
relationships between the university and its surrounding
communities, and the Student Services Grants Program, which
supports the overall student experience on campus.
Undergraduate and graduate students are encouraged to
apply. The maximum funding amount for Community Service
grants is $1,200 for undergraduate and $1,600 for graduate
student projects. Student Services grants have a maximum of

The 2003 Maryland Spinal Cord Injury Research Grants
Program -- The Maryland Board of Spinal Cord Injury
Research announces the availability of funds for grants to
medical research facilities within Maryland aimed at
restoring neurological function in people with spinal cord
injuries.
Applicants must submit a Request for Proposal,
