Coffeehouse Opens at School of Public Health

By Kenna Brigham
School of Public Health

A week's worth of specials has been planned for the grand opening of the Daily Grind, a coffee and light fare cafe that was recently built at the Bloomberg School of Public Health.

Patrons will receive half off the price of coffee today, a $1.25 discount on muffins and scones on Tuesday, half off the price of fountain drinks and Italian sodas on Wednesday, 25 cents off coffee and espresso on Thursday and $1 off the price of sandwiches and salads on Friday.

The cafe is on the second floor, above the Monument Street entrance. In addition to made-to-order espresso and coffee drinks, the Daily Grind offers wraps, salads, sandwiches, snacks, soup, yogurt, soda, juices and bakery items. Plans for a cafe at the school have been in the works for nearly five years. The space was completed recently as part of the new teaching and research additions.

The Daily Grind is open from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. The JHSPH location and the one in the JHU Broadway Research Building are offshoots of the original in Fell's Point. If you have questions or comments for the Daily Grind, e-mail [email protected]. To view a menu or a read some history on the coffee house, go to www.grind.com.
