Still hot, year two ... Hundreds showed up on a rainy,
chilly day to sample chili and desserts created by faculty,
staff and students and to buy a chili and cornbread lunch
for $5. All the proceeds went to
United Way of
Central Maryland, providing more than $1,000 for health
and human services. The big winners in the second annual
chili cook-off, held at Homewood, were, first place, Amy
Wallace; second place, Robert Ferguson; third place,
Loandra Torres; and, in group entries, the
Military Science
Department. In the desserts category, first place went
to Jeannie Pugh, second to Mary and Tom Simmons and third
to Taneka Martin.
