Friendship Host Families Wanted
The Humphrey Fellows Program in the Department of Mental
Health at the Bloomberg School is seeking friendship host
families for 12 fellows from developing countries who will
be living near the Homewood campus during the coming
academic year.
The host families enhance the fellows' stay by
answering questions about living in the United States,
meeting them on arrival, inviting them into their homes for
occasional dinners and on holidays, shopping or a baseball
game and generally providing an American citizen contact.
Families are asked to commit only for a year but may
renew.
To befriend a Humphrey Program Fellow during his or
her stay in Baltimore, contact Dorothea Stieff at dkstieff@bcpl.net, dstieff@jhsph.edu,
410-752-3274 or 410-614-6188.
The American Diabetes 2006 Walk for
Diabetes

walker or become a JHMI team captain by going to
www.diabetes.org. The goal is to raise more money than in
2004, when JHMI was the platinum sponsor and raised more
than $40,000. For more information, contact Carlisa Jones,
the American Diabetes coordinator for JHMI, by calling
410-955-6230 or e-mailing
casimmons@jhmi.edu.
