Nights Out at the Movies

'Young Frankenstein' is among the films set to be screened.

Homewood's Keyser Quadrangle will be transformed into an open-air theater for eight Friday nights this summer, when family-friendly movies will be screened courtesy of the Office of Summer and Intersession Programs. (In case of rain: Mudd Hall Auditorium.) Bring your blankets and lawn chairs at 7:30 p.m., when pre-show entertainment begins and hot dogs, burgers, nachos, candy and drinks will go on sale. The films begin at 8:30 p.m.

The series kicks off on June 9 with Walk the Line and entertainment by Scooter Scudieri (firstrockstar.com). Coming up: June 16, Monty Python and the Holy Grail (pre-show TBA); June 23, King Kong and Comedy Night with Adam Ruben & guests; June 30, Viva Las Vegas and Chris Presley, an Elvis impersonator; July 7, Young Frankenstein and Polyester; July 14, Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit, DEFAWNK (a JHU undergrad funk band) and a balloon sculptor; July 21, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe and live Irish music; and July 28, The Wizard of Oz with the Swingin' Swamis ( www.theswinginswamis.com).
