The Homewood campus's Decker Garage, a 600-space below-ground parking facility, will become
available for monthly and visitor parking on Tuesday, Sept. 4. Four hundred spaces will be available to
monthly permit holders, and 200 will be reserved for visitors to Johns Hopkins and the Baltimore
Museum of Art. General parking will be $78 a month, and reserved parking in a numbered space will be
$105.
These options are just two of those being announced today by the Homewood Office of Parking
and Transportation. Others include changes in status, from visitor to reserved lot, for example, and in
pricing.
Everyone who desires a Homewood parking permit for 2007-2008 must sign up on the parking
Web site at www.parking.jhu.edu. The open enrollment period begins today, July 9, and will continue
through Friday, Aug. 17. Notification of assignments will begin by e-mail on Monday, Aug. 20.
Among the changes announced, the Wyman East surface lot will become the Wyman Reserved
lot, and faculty hangtags will provide exclusive access to parking spaces behind Clark Hall; around
Shriver, NEB, Maryland and Whitehead; beside Mudd Hall; and behind AMR B, with overflow spaces in
the Wyman Reserved lot.
Other parking options include the Stony Run and Wyman West lots, San Martin and West Gate
garages, Education Building lot, Muller Deck and other surface lots, as well as the Eastern campus.
Details of the various options and prices are available online and are provided to subscribers in
Today's Announcements for today, July 9.
The Decker Garage will also become the primary visitor parking area, although the San Martin
Garage will also be available for visitors and part-time employees. The Stony Run lot will not be used
as a visitor lot after Aug. 31.
