Defensive midfielder George Castle proudly holds aloft
the 2007 Division I Men's
Lacrosse Championship trophy just moments after Johns
Hopkins captured its ninth NCAA
lacrosse title and second in three years. The Blue Jays held out for a
12-11 victory against
Duke in a game that went down to the final ticks of the
clock and became an ESPN "Instant
Classic."
In honor of their accomplishment, Maryland's two
senators, Barbara A. Mikulski and
Benjamin L. Cardin, submitted a U.S. Senate resolution to
congratulate the team for winning
the championship, which took place in front of a crowd of
nearly 50,000 people at M&T Bank
Stadium in Baltimore on May 28. Desktop wallpaper images of
the game can be found on the
Baltimore Sun's college lacrosse page.
