'Journalism of Ideas'

Scott Stossel

Scott Stossel, managing editor of The Atlantic Monthly, will discuss "The Journalism of Ideas" this week in the first event of this year's Press and Public Policy seminar series presented by the Institute for Policy Studies.

Among the topics he may cover are how the magazine bridges the gap between research and academia and the public, and the role of the media in influencing public policy. A Q & A follows.

Stossel's articles and essays have appeared in The New Yorker, The New York Times, The New Republic, The Washington Post and The Boston Globe, as well as The Atlantic Monthly. He is the author of Sarge: The Life and Times of Sargent Shriver, and he is currently working on an intellectual history of the idea of anxiety.
