Homewood Hosts Recognition Reception
Employees from across a variety of disciplines and
departments gathered in Homewood's
Glass Pavilion on June 14 to receive praise for reaching
milestone anniversaries of five, 10 and
15 years of service and to pick up their chosen customized
service awards.
Staff from Academic and Cultural Centers, JHPIEGO,
Peabody Institute, University
Administration and the schools of Arts and Sciences,
Business, Education and Engineering
attended the Homewood event, the largest such reception
held each year.
Those present included University Administration
telecommunications staff; Peabody
operations staff; employees of Arts and Sciences' Biology
Department; and staff of the
Krieger Mind/Brain Institute, one of the university's
academic centers.
Of the more than 300 staff members recognized, 51
have been with the university for
15 years, 95 for 10 years and 219 for five years.
After brief presentations from Charlene Hayes, vice
president for human resources, and
James McGill, senior vice president for finance and
administration, feted staff took home
awards ranging from binoculars and duffel bags to watches
and bracelets.
The option of choosing customized awards is a new
element of the recognition program,
which is organized by the Office of
Faculty, Staff and Retiree Programs.
