Beginning academic year 2008-2009, employees
continuing their participation in the Tuition
Grant Plan will not have to reapply if there are no changes
in the information supplied on a previous
application. This new policy is effective immediately, so
current participants do not have to apply for
the coming academic year.
However, parents of dependent children currently
participating in the program and planning to
attend a different school in the fall, or to take the
semester off, are asked to contact the Education
Assistance Benefits Office immediately (contact information
below).
Until the EAB Office hears from the parents, dependent
children with continuing eligibility will
be considered registered participants for the following
year. The parents of these children can
expect to receive (at their home address) the Tuition Grant
Consecutive Year Participation letter,
which includes the student information, policy/program
changes and procedural information that will
be shared with the college/university of record.
Employees new to the Tuition Grant program will be
required to complete the 2008-2009 tuition
grant plan application and complete a subsequent year's
application only when the information supplied
on the application has changed. The applications will be
available later this month.
Effective academic year 2008-2009, dependent children
will not be eligible to participate in the
program during any semester of the calendar year in which
they turn 24.
The Tuition Grant, Tuition Remission and new Tuition
Reimbursement Plan for Undergraduate
Studies are among the education plans offered by the
university's Education Assistance Program.
Employees can learn more about the plans in a round of
information scheduled in coming weeks.
Current policies and procedures as well as program changes
will be discussed.
