Hundreds of revelers packed Homewood's Keyser
Quadrangle Wednesday night to usher in the
holiday season with a shimmering Johns Hopkins tradition.
The fourth annual Lighting of the Quads
attracted a record crowd who sipped hot cider, munched
cookies, sang carols and watched as Wendy
Brody, joined by President William R. Brody, flipped the
ceremonial switch authorizing Facilities
Management to illuminate lampposts around the campus that
have been wrapped in white lights. The
event featured musical performances by the JHU Pep Band and
three a cappella groups — the All-Nighters, Octopodes
and Vocal Cords. It also featured the Brodys' dog, a
party-loving corgi named Molly.
