Theatre Hopkins opens its final
production of the season, Mary Zimmerman's adaptation of
The Arabian Nights, this week on the Homewood
campus.
Zimmerman, best known for her Tony Award-winning Ovid's
Metamorphoses, has also adapted The Odyssey and
Argonautika, recently seen at Washington's Shakespeare
Theater.
Composer Kevin Clark, who received his master's degree from
Peabody last month, has created an original musical score for
this production. The cast, led by Peabody graduate Kateri
Chambers as Scheherazade, includes Peabody musicians Anna
Meadors and Imani Mosley. It also features Mick Simon, Laurel
Burggraf, Jim Knost and Dyana Neal.
The production runs Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays through
