Student Employee of the Year

Candido Brown, a senior
sociology major, was named Student Employee of the Year
at a
ceremony held April 8 in Homewood's Glass Pavilion.
Brown received a $1,000 savings bond and various other
prizes in recognition of his outstanding
service for the Office
of Undergraduate Admissions. His supervisor, Sharon
Dorrian, praised Brown
for his outstanding work ethic, initiative, disposition and
reliability. Brown also was invited to meet
with Mayor Sheila Dixon, who presented him with a Citation
from Baltimore City. He later was named
Student Employee of the Year for the State of Maryland.
JHU's 17th annual Student Employee of the Year
ceremony was part of National Student
Employee Appreciation Week, which aims to enhance awareness
of student employment and the
important role it plays in higher education.
The JHU Employer of the Year for 2008 was Frank
Richardson, escort coordinator for Campus
Safety and Security.
