Charm City explorers

Baltimore is many things. It's the largest city in
Maryland, a major U.S. seaport, the birthplace
of Babe Ruth and a thriving cultural destination, just to
name a few. To Paula Burger, dean of
undergraduate education, Charm City is also a learning
laboratory for Johns Hopkins students to
experience, explore and have some fun in.

Work begins on climate change
effort
Benjamin Hobbs says that, right here and now, Johns
Hopkins has the opportunity to leverage
its strengths and influence to help safeguard the future of
the planet. An ambitious goal by any
stretch, but one he is ready to embrace

Hopkins to participate in 1000 Genomes
Project
Researchers at the McKusick-Nathans Institute of Genetic
Medicine at Johns Hopkins will join other national and
international scientists in the 1000
Genomes Project, an ambitious effort that will
involve sequencing the genomes of numerous people from
around the world to create the most detailed
and medically useful picture to date of human genetic
variation.
