quickly becomes clear that the 22-year-old senior has
little interest in talking about himself. Instead, the
psychology major who was born in
Pakistan but calls Texas "home" would far rather discuss,
among other things, strategies for
eliminating the barriers that poor people in the United
States and abroad face in accessing quality
health care.

Roadmap to greener JHU and beyond
The Johns Hopkins Task Force on Climate Change has
released to President Ronald J. Daniels its
final report, a landmark document that includes a series of
major recommendations, prominent among
which is that the university reduce its greenhouse gas
emissions by 51 percent by the year 2025.

Health risks/benefits conference is
planned
A conference aimed at helping health professionals,
medical journalists and the general public
gain a better understanding of health benefits and risks
will be held later this month on the
Homewood campus. Speakers and research papers will address
topics such as the risks associated with
overtreatment and ways to make better-informed medical
decisions.
