Erno Fabry was one of the most prolific tastemakers to
successfully transmit modern design to
the post-World War II American home, but his work has gone
largely unrecorded. Modernism at
Evergreen: Erno Fabry (1906-1984) is the first exhibition
devoted to the Czech-American architect
and designer. This student-curated retrospective features
approximately 45 never-before exhibited
pieces of furniture, architectural plans, drawings,
textiles and photographs which reveal that Fabry
was a powerful force in the architectural theory and
practice of his era. The exhibit opens with a
reception from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, May 18, at Evergreen
Museum & Library and is on view through
Oct. 25 as part of regular guided tours.
