Applications for the Woodrow Wilson Undergraduate Research
Program
All Arts and Sciences freshmen are invited to apply to the
Woodrow
Wilson Undergraduate Research Program. The purpose
of the program is to encourage research, broadly defined,
by Johns Hopkins undergraduates.
The program offers each Wilson Fellow mentoring by one
of the school's distinguished faculty
members; financial support of up to $7,500, distributed
over three years, for research-related travel,
work or study, and equipment; and a senior poster session
at which the results of the fellows' work are
presented to the Johns Hopkins community.
Approximately five current freshmen will be chosen for
this program, joining fellows from the
classes of 2010, 2011 and 2012, as well as incoming
freshmen who undergo a separate application
process. Completion of the Woodrow Wilson Program will also
be recognized at graduation.
Application requirements include a two-page statement
on intended research and the applicant's
qualifications for pursuing it; a resume; a letter of
recommendation from a faculty member willing to
serve as initial mentor; and a copy of the second semester
transcript, sent to the address below. The
deadline for applying is May 18. Applications should be
submitted to Ami Cox, Woodrow Wilson
Research Fellowship Program, 225 Mergenthaler, Homewood
campus.
CPR/AED Training
CPR/AED training is being offered to JHU faculty and staff
from 9 a.m. to noon
on Wednesday, May 20, on the Homewood campus.
This adult CPR training offers hands-on practice
combining lecture, video demonstrations and
manikin training. A nonrefundable, pre-payment fee of $20
provides participants with take-away
materials designed for use both in the course and outside
the classroom as reference tools. Automatic
external defibrillator training for use on a victim of
sudden cardiac arrest is also provided. To
