Blue Jays Prepared To Run At 8th NCAA Championship


     Undefeated. Top ranked. No. 1 seed.

     That's the line on the Blue Jays men's lacrosse team as they
went into the NCAA Division I lacrosse tournament, which started
Saturday. Hopkins has won 42 national championships since it
began in 1883 and seven NCAA championships, the last in 1987.

     Hopkins drew a first-round bye in this year's tournament and
will host the quarterfinal match on Saturday, May 20, against the
winner of the game between No. 8-ranked Loyola and No. 9-ranked
North Carolina.

     Face-off for the quarterfinal match at Homewood Field will
be 1 p.m. Tickets are scheduled to go on sale May 15 at the
Newton H. White Athletic Center office.                     

     Because this is an NCAA tournament event, there will be no
complimentary passes of any kind accepted for admission.
