Letter: From the Office of Johns Hopkins Medicine Dear Colleague: As you know, a search committee has been appointed to identify and recruit the senior executive officer for Johns Hopkins Medicine, the new governance structure that will unify the hospital and health system and the medical school under a single leader. The title of this new senior leader, for working purposes, is chief executive officer of Johns Hopkins Medicine and dean of the School of Medicine. The trustees of the university and the hospital and health system created Johns Hopkins Medicine to enable our medical institutions to function in the most effective possible manner in pursuit of their long-standing missions of excellence in clinical care, biomedical research and medical education. The changing structure of academic medicine and healthcare delivery systems in the country requires a governance structure for Johns Hopkins Medicine that is both responsive and effective.
