Margaret M. (Maggy) Brown, a doctoral candidate in the Humanities Center specializing in the history of medicine, died April 12 of breast cancer in Minneapolis. She was 32 and lived in Baltimore. Brown received her B.A. from Reed College in Portland, Ore., and was awarded two of the most prestigious fellowships in her field: the Bourse Chateaubriand Fellowship and a Fulbright Fellowship for work toward her dissertation in Paris. She was a founder of the Women's Health Education Project and worked for many years in the Center for Medical Consumers, both in New York City. A memorial was held April 18 in Oshkosh, Wis. A service will be held in Baltimore later this month.
