The School of Nursing
will host information sessions about its new Business of
Nursing program, on Thursday, Jan. 8, at 8 a.m. and again at
noon, in Room 114 of the new School of Nursing building.
The 12-credit, nine-month graduate certificate program
complements a nurse's clinical skills with comprehensive business
content in managed care and finance.
The School of Nursing is located at 525 N. Wolfe St., across the
street from the
main entrance of The Johns Hopkins Hospital. The sessions are
co-sponsored by the

The Summer 1998 NASA
Academy is accepting applications. Undergraduate and graduate
internship opportunities are available in engineering, science
and mathematics at
three NASA field centers (Ames Research Center, Dryden Flight
Research Center and
Goddard Space Flight Center); a NASA Academy is in the planning
stage for the
Kennedy Space Center. A team of students will work on the cutting
edge of NASA s
research and development while exploring the many facets of the
U.S. space program.

Urban Environmental Health announces availability of funding
for pilot projects, which will be funded for up to $12,500
for the period beginning
April 1998 to March 31, 1999. Deadline for submission is Jan. 15.

Glamour
magazine's 1998 Top Ten College Women Competition is offering a
$1,000 scholarship to accomplished female juniors. The
competition recognizes
exceptional achievements and the vision, determination and
academic excellence of
women. Candidates will be evaluated on leadership experience,
personal involvement
in community and campus affairs, and academic excellence.

Backpacker
magazine is offering $1,000 scholarships to full-time juniors
and seniors. Applicants must maintain at least a 3.0 GPA in
any major field of
study. The scholarship program is designed to honor students who
have displayed
initiative in improving or protecting the outdoors and he
environment by taking a
leadership role in outdoor activities and encouraging others to
do the same.

An exhibition at
Evergreen House of rare 18th-century imprints from the
Garrett Collection of the Eisenhower Rare Book Library will
continue through Friday, Jan. 16. The exhibition, mounted to
celebrate Baltimore's bicentennial, is open Monday through
Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday, 1 to 4
p.m.
Admission to the exhibit is $6, $5 for seniors, $3 for students.
Hopkins students and faculty will be admitted free with I.D.
