To recognize the fourth anniversary of 9/11, the Johns Hopkins Homewood campus hosted the traveling exhibit "Eyes Wide Open." Sponsored by the American Friends Service Committee (a Quaker social justice and peace organization), the anti-war exhibit displayed a pair of military boots to represent each U.S. service member who has died in the war in Iraq. A week later, anti-war activist Cindy Sheehan spoke before a 1,000-plus crowd in Shriver auditorium, as part of her "Bring Them Home Now" tour. Her visit was co-sponsored by an anti-war student group. |
