Research Themes: Paleoeustasy

Linda A. Hinnov

In development, Fall 2014:

Sequence stratigraphy is the description and interpretation of depositional sequences related to global sea-level change, or "eustasy." It has become increasingly evident that many third order sequences have boundaries that are coincident with Earth's 405-kyr orbital eccentricity cycles during greenhouse times, and with the 1.2-myr obliquity modulation cycle during icehouse times.

Current paleoeustasy projects:

Evolution of Climate Noise
Triassic cyclostratigraphy of China
Paleozoic Milankovitch Cycles
