A Special Day:
Johns Hopkins Graduates Take Center Stage

New graduates after commencement exercises on May 23, 2002.

NBC News anchorman Tom Brokaw delivered the undergraduate diploma ceremony address and Oriole great Cal Ripken Jr. received his first honorary degree, but the day belonged to the new graduates of Johns Hopkins University.

Photographers roamed over the Homewood campus to capture the sights of the day's events. And now those memories have been put to music composed by Daniel Davis, a dual degree candidate in music and history who recently was named to USA TODAY's All-USA Academic Team.

To experience the day, check out this slideshow, set to Davis' music.

(The slideshow is in Real format and a free version of the Real Player is available here . The player comes bundled with newer computers, but those with older computers may need to download the player. If you have any trouble at all, please e-mail: media@jhu.edu)
