Commencement 2001 Commencement-related Road Closure To make walking in the area of the commencement tent safer and easier, the road east of Garland field at Homewood will be closed to vehicle traffic from Shriver Hall to Garland Hall. No vehicles will be allowed to drive or park in this area after 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 23, and all day Thursday, May 24. This closure will ensure safe passage for the processional and recessional marches during the four major ceremonies held under the commencement tent Wednesday night and Thursday. It will also allow graduates, their guests, faculty, staff and others easier access to robing and diploma distribution areas, rest rooms, drinking fountains, designated photo-taking areas and other facilities. If you need to drive to an area north of Garland Hall during the closure period, please enter campus through the gates off San Martin Drive, near the Johns Hopkins Club. The road will be open as normal on Friday.
