Nasdaq President to Discuss the New Economy,
A Talk at Evergreen

Alfred R. Berkeley III, president of the Nasdaq Stock Market and a trustee of The Johns Hopkins University, will discuss the Nasdaq's role in creating a new economy and new wealth during the nation's longest economic boom. This presentation of the Friends of Johns Hopkins Libraries will take place at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 13, at the Carriage House at Evergreen, 4545 N. Charles Street in Baltimore.

After a career in finance at Alex. Brown & Sons, where his primary expertise involved large computer software and electronic commerce companies, Berkeley was appointed president of the Nasdaq Stock Market in 1996. Today, the Nasdaq has a larger dollar volume and trades more shares per day than any other U.S. market.

A reception will follow Berkeley's presentation. The event is free and open to the public. For more information about the program and to make reservations, call 410-516- 8327.

[The Sheridan Libraries encompass the Milton S. Eisenhower Library and its collections at the Hutzler Reading Room, Garrett Library and the George Peabody Library.]
