Husband and wife team Sam and Joan McCready will give a performance, "Songs of Wandering Aengus" at noon on Wednesday, March 14, in Shriver Hall on The Johns Hopkins University's Homewood campus, 3400 N. Charles St. in Baltimore.

The McCreadys give an entertaining and informative account of W.B. Yeats's relationships with women. With the use of Yeats's poems, plays, journals, letters, and their own written narrative, they look at his complex relationships with women and how he wove those often tortuous relationships into his major writings.

Sam McCready is an Irish actor, teacher, director, and writer. He has been Professor of Theatre at the University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC) since 1984 and artistic director of the summer touring program, Shakespeare on Wheels. He is also an actor with the Maryland Stage Company, a professional theater company associated with UMBC. Joan McCready is an accomplished actress who was born in Belfast and spent many years in Ireland as a teacher, actress, and director. In 1985, she moved to Baltimore, where she teaches Humanities and Communications at the Park School.

This performance is part of the Wednesday Noon Series presented by the Johns Hopkins University Office of Special Events, now in its 35th season of cultural programming on the Homewood campus. Admission is free. For information, call the Office of Special Events at 410-516-7157.
