Create your own holiday wreath of greens at a Wreath Making Workshop from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 5, in the wine cellar of Homewood House Museum on the campus of the Johns Hopkins University, 3400 N. Charles St. in Baltimore. Using a mix of traditional methods and fresh takes on the season, each participant will decorate a balsam wreath using cuttings of pine, magnolia and holly and decorative accents such as pine cones and Maryland oyster shells, topped off with a handmade bow. All materials and instructions are included in the workshop fee. Participants are encouraged to bring a bag lunch; refreshments will be provided. The workshop costs $16 for members of Homewood House Museum, Evergreen House, or Johns Hopkins staff; $18 for the general public. All wreaths must be pre-paid and the deadline to order a wreath is Wednesday, Dec. 3. The event is sponsored by the Historic Houses of The Johns Hopkins University.
