Teresa Carreno Subject of Musical Play at HopkinsHer performance will be presented by the Johns Hopkins University Office of Special Events and the Peggy and Yale Gordon Trust on Saturday, Feb. 11, at 8 p.m. in Shriver Hall on the university's Homewood campus at 3400 N. Charles St. in Baltimore. Ross will perform a two-hour solo recital while portraying this feisty, naive, clever and determined woman. Ross, who records for the Musical Heritage Society and Connoisseur Society labels, also wrote and performed a number of solo dramatic works including I, Clara, based on the life of Clara Schumann. Carreno was a hit off-Broadway and earned Ross an Outer Critics Circle Award nomination for "Outstanding Achievement." It has been performed throughout the United States and in South America, where it played at the prestigious Teatro Teresa Carreno in Caracas, Venezuela. Tickets for the Hopkins performance are $14 and $13. Senior citizen, full-time student and group rates are available.
