Alvin Ailey Repertory Ensemble to Perform at Hopkins

The Alvin Ailey Repertory Ensemble will perform at Johns Hopkins University on Sunday, Dec. 3, at 8 p.m. in Shriver Hall, 3400 N. Charles Street in Baltimore. The program, sponsored by Hopkins' Office of Special Events, will feature three works: Escapades, Three Dances with Army Blankets and Meridians.

Formed in 1974 by Alvin Ailey, the ensemble is composed of outstanding scholarship students of the American Dance Center. It is now under the artistic direction of Sylvia Waters, a former principal dancer with the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre. Placing emphasis on a balance between repertoire, technique and performance, the Alvin Ailey Repertory Ensemble has grown into one of the most exciting dance companies in the country.

Tickets are $22. Senior citizens, full-time student and group discounts are available. For information, call the Office of Special Events at (410) 516-7157.
