Celebrate Christmas Past at Homewood House

This December, Homewood House will shimmer in fine Federal holiday style. To celebrate the holidays, curators of the fully restored historic mansion located on the campus of the Johns Hopkins University will conjure up the Christmas past of this once enormously fashionable Early American Baltimore home.

The entire house will be decorated with lavish supper tables, garlands of boxwood, juniper and nandina, wreaths and mistletoe kissing balls -- all giving the entire house the appearance of being poised to entertain guests upon their return from holiday fox hunts, or for a festive holiday dinner party.

Homewood House is receiving from Tuesday, Dec. 3, through Monday, Dec. 23. Tours will occur from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday and Sunday from noon to 3 p.m.

Homewood's popular evening candlelight tour will be held Thursday, Dec. 5 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Period music will be performed throughout the evening.
